Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has acknowledged that the club have discussed the prospect of re-signing Paul Pogba from Manchester United. The France international parted ways with the Bianconeri to re-join the Red Devils during the summer of 2016 but he has since endured a mixed run where he has come for plenty of criticism.
Amidst this, there has already been the talk of him pursuing a fresh challenge away from Old Trafford and when asked about the prospect of Juventus re-signing him, Paratici told TMW: “Is the return of Pogba possible? We have already discussed this many times. He’s a great player we’ve had before and are fond of, but now he plays for Manchester United. We are exploring the market, the president and Pavel Nedved, with the help of the coach (Massimiliano) Allegri. To improve the team we are always careful. We still have great players and we enjoy them. It will not be easy to always have so many strong ones.”
Pogba had experienced a good level of performance for France during the summer World Cup where they went all the way to second their second global crown. Thereafter, the Frenchman was fancied to produce more of the same with the start of the 2018/19 Premier League season but things have not gone quite as planned with his performances being very much average.
Moreover, the midfielder has also witnessed a strained relationship with manager Jose Mourinho with whom he had a war of words in a public training session and this has seemingly intensified the speculation over his future beyond the current campaign. Pogba has failed to contribute a goal or assist during the past five matches for the club but he has a chance to redeem himself on Wednesday night when Arsenal make the trip to Old Trafford.
