Manchester United will be without the services of French World Cup winner Paul Pogba for the Manchester Derby this weekend as he’s still suspended after his recent red card in the league clash with arch rivals Liverpool.
Salah completed his treble with Pogba on the pitch as Liverpool led 5-0 at the start of the second half. Manchester United midfielder Pogba then received a red card upon VAR review on the hour mark for the foul on Keita. The Red Devils didn’t concede more goals with ten men when Paul Pogba left the pitch as the damage had already been done.
The red card earned Pogba a three-match ban starting with the away game against North London side Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. Pogba was absent as Manchester United thrashed Spurs 3-0 away from home with goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and second half substitute Marcus Rashford. The Red Devils ended a run of four games without a win in the league with the Spurs result.
Paul Pogba returned for the Champions League game at Atalanta which took Manchester United closer to the knockout stage. He was largely anonymous during the Tuesday’s game which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime for the Manchester Derby clash at home to Manchester City with three points separating the two teams on the league table.
Pogba will miss the Manchester Derby this weekend and the away league game against newcomers Watford after this month’s international break.
